What is Natural Meat?
The animals raised at Hinkebein Hills Farm are given NO ANTIBIOTICS and NO GROWTH HORMONES. Their
feed contains NO ANIMAL BY-PRODUCTS. All animals are raised outdoors in pastures and pens in sunlight and fresh air.
The pigs have ample space to root in the dirt. Sows farrow (give birth) in large pens with open shelters that are large
enough for the sows to move about in without crushing or hurting the piglets. Piglets are weaned at 4-6 weeks.
Beef cattle are on pasture and are rotated weekly to fresh grass. In addition to daily grazing, the cattle are supplemented with grain made up of corn, soybeans and
natural minerals.
The chickens, which are raised for eggs only, are truly free-range, eating what they find in the fields as well as supplemental corn.
The products offered by Hinkebein Hills Farm are all natural and the difference is in the taste.
The meat is very tender because the animals are not exposed to the stress of living in a feed-lot. Little shrinkage occurs in the cooked product because the animals have room to roam and run, thus building up more muscle.
Pork from Hinkebein Hills Farm is dark and marbled, unlike pork raised on a confinement farm.
The meat and eggs are healthier since the animals are not given antibiotics, steroids and growth hormones.
